Introduction

A 17-year legacy of grassroots impact met with a bold vision for the future. Zun Foundation, named after the Persian word "Zun" or "Zan," meaning "women," has spent nearly two decades prioritising the welfare of women as pillars of families and society. Based in Bangalore, Karnataka, the foundation operates as a registered trust focused on providing medical aid, education, and family welfare to empower individuals and foster self-sufficient communities yet its paper-based operations limited scalability and efficiency.

To lead the strategic planning and execution of the foundation’s digital transformation, ensuring seamless adoption of new systems while enhancing accessibility and operational efficiency.

Scope of Work:

  • Website Development: Design a streamlined, user-centric platform aligned with the foundation’s mission.

  • Digital Strategy & Outreach: Create a scalable digital infrastructure that facilitates collaborations and increases donor and beneficiary engagement.

  • Process Optimisation: Transition from paper-based workflows to efficient digital operations, ensuring sustainability and ease of use for the internal team.

Branding & Visual Identity

The trust’s branding, established over a decade ago, had minimal supporting materials created or retained. While the logo had become a well-recognized symbol within the community, it was decided to retain it to preserve the established connection.

To modernize the brand and increase flexibility in designing the website, the visual identity was expanded by introducing two lighter shades of the parent pink and purple. These additional colours created a cohesive and versatile palette for use across the website and other branding materials.

User Journey Mapping

Website User Journey

To facilitate a seamless transition from paper-based processes to a digital platform, while ensuring the team and trustees could adapt effectively, the website was designed with simplicity and functionality at its core.

  • User Journey: The site features intuitive navigation and clear calls-to-action, enabling users to easily achieve their goals.

  • Backend Empowerment: The back-end is designed for autonomy, allowing the team to independently manage and update content without technical support.

  • Sustainable Operations: A team made up of beneficiaries of the Trust was trained and now manage the website, balancing grassroots authenticity with modern efficiency.

  • Scalability: The platform is flexible, ensuring it can evolve with the Trust’s growing needs.
